GLD has "negative dividends", so to speak. Every month they sell a tiny bit of everyone's gold to pay the fund expenses. It's a pain in the ass for tax purposes, since each little sale of gold triggers a capital gain (or loss).

Hmmm, are you still shorting a Tonka Truck full of GLD? As a short, I suppose the monthly fee would be subtracted from your account...
