Mindmeld you are being hysterical. What are you talking about? It makes no sense to me. That sounds like right wing fear mongering to get rid of social security and medicare. Don't you ask yourself why they never talk about raising taxes, or cutting defense spending??/

If this country goes bankrupt it will not be because of social security, but rather because of the Republcian tax cuts for the rich and their stupid ass defense spending which we could easily cut in half. The Republicans have decimated the middle class and taxes are the lowest since 1929.

The Replicans wouldn't even cut the 40 billion in tax breaks for big oil with oil at 100 a barrel.

We do not have to gut social security to save the country. In fact if they just raised taxes on the rich and closed the loopholes on the corporations there would be plenty of money to right our ship of state.

Good lord. Where do you get these ideas from?

<<Yes, I hear you. But what about compassion for my kids who are going to inherit a bankrupt country? They are a few years from entering the workforce and they are going to be lucky as hell to find a job. I'm more concerned about them than I am about my old mom and dad. They've lived a good life. I want a good life for my kids and my old dad will say he'll choose them over himself any day of the week. That sounds brutal, but I think we should all think about the future, not staying so focused on the past.

Ron Paul: Elizabeth Warren Is a Socialist

BUT HE'S NOT HAPPY WITH THE ULTRA-RICH, EITHER

(NEWSER) – To say that Ron Paul disagrees with Elizabeth Warren’s ideas about the “social contract” might be a bit of an understatement. Paul told ABC News today that Warren’s gone-viral rant, in which she argued that the rich should pay it forward because the government provided them with infrastructure and education, is wrong. Why is she wrong? “Because she’s a socialist,” Paul explained.

He went on to address public schooling specifically: “When the state runs things, that is a socialist idea. I preach home schooling and private schooling and competition.” Warren’s “whole argument is absolutely wrong” because “governments are always destructive in the creation of wealth,” he said, noting that he’s no fan of the ultra-rich either: “I’m pretty critical of the wealth of a lot of millionaires and billionaires because they ripped us off, they got the benefits, they got the bailout.” (Click for Warren's original quote.)
