Mike, I agree w/ all of your comments - I like Triby's UniGold format but I like even more the already CLIA approved tests which Qdel is currently selling. I also own some Triby stock but Qdel is where I think the quickest success will come. I anticipate a very good quarter for Qdel - this has been a tough year for Qdel (BD lawsuit, ongoing royalties being worked into existing cost-structure, etc.) but I think those problems have now been addressed.

It seems to me as though it has been mighty quiet at Qdel lately - too quiet really- which gives me a gut feeling that we may be due for some news very soon. Mr deBruin has now been there about 5 or 6 months. I can only presume he was brought there for a reason - I think we may well see the "fruits" of his labor before too much longer.

We of the Celtic persuasion enjoy all discussion pertaining to all technologies involved in the Rapid Response field.

I believe bringing Dr. Pronovost...Pranovof ( choose one ) over to "our side " is a real coup d'etat.
One of the benefits Trinity enjoyed when they acquired Clark was a relationship with Dr. William Boteler, an eminent scientist with extensive experience working with the US FDA.
Dr. Pranovof will join Dr. Boteler in Dublin very soon since the CNTO diagnostics business has been acquired. +( Cancer markers )
I believe the Irish lads will have enough challenges to keep Dr Pranovof occupied for the forseeable future.

In the very near future we expect some major achievements to be announced from Trinity Biotech.

stay tuned for further developements

Mike,
Right on. Most interesting facet of this is that, like free agents, the business talent also believes in the Cuba Gooding axiom, "Show me the money". Unlike our national pastime, it's done in stock options, not bonuses and multi year contracts. Both companies should do well with a semblence of peace and global aging upon us for the first time since the biblical epochs. I went out and bought more Triby because I like the way the wind is blowing in from right field, not because I don't think Q will be at the pay table too. Bill
