Jon Corzine should be forced to only have 7 minutes with a public defender like many others enjoy before the law. Although his magnanimous decision to turn down his severance package may be a welcome surprise to those who monitor the "masters of the universe" on Wall Street, it doesn't change the underlying incentive structure that led to risky bets and the collapse of MF Global. William Cohan was on Democracy Now! yesterday discussing the institutional priorities of financial firms and how those are the bedrock of corruption and crisis, not the personalities who lead them.
