To bow to what Justice Clarence Thomas rightly called “a high-tech lynch mob” — again — is to surrender to media harassment and totalitarianism . American and Western politics have again fallen into the hands of demagogues , who conduct real and virtual mob assaults through the media each and every day. “racist,” “sexist,” “Islamophobic,” “scientifically ignorant,” and the other leftist vulgarities , we are seeing nothing but that ancient mob mentality again. The European Union is run by a leftist cabal that owes no allegiance to its own citizens. Europe’s power class has turned rogue and the concrete results are suicidal. The EU is lurching from crisis to crisis, and by importing 52 million easily radicalized Muslims it has in effect signed its death warrant. Europe can no longer defend itself, because it has eaten its seed corn to feed the welfare state. Herman Cain is a courageous black conservative, and deserves our respect and admiration for that alone; add all his other qualifications and he’s the most experienced, viable black candidate on the Republican side since the 19th century. He is far better qualified to make wise economic decisions than any candidate on the left. Cain could single-handedly overcome the clichéd slanders dropped by the left against conservatives and Republicans, simply by being who he is. The current assault on Cain’s good name flips the burden of proof to the defense; they assume guilt before innocence. None of those scurrilous charges have been proven. Even if they were, they’d be laughable compared to Chappaquiddick , Bill Clinton’s serial abuse of women, and Barney Frank’s gay prostitution racket, run from his own basement in Boston. , prominent Republicans like Karl Rove are all too happy to stab conservative Republicans in the back. Such people have surrendered before a fight.
