You would have to see the entire program to get the joke... but I'll try here... it was called a debate, but it really was more of a discussion of the topics in great detail, including their individual philosophical perspectives on the points... throughout the entire discussion, they pretty much agree on each other's points and comments, a very friendly discussion, I wouldn't call it a debate at all... there was no time limits or anything like that, just a good 90 minute discussion, I thought it was very excellent... then, in the last three minutes they were told they could ask each other one question... so, Newt asked Herman what he learned from leaving the private sector and running for President... Herman gave a good and frank answer... then Herman asked Newt, "As Vice President, what would be your first priority?" The whole place exploded in laughter and so did Newt... it just looked like Herman was interviewing Newt for the VP job... then, Newt said he would take his lead from his good friend Dick Cheney, and that he definitely wouldn't go hunting." The place exploded with laughter again... a great way to end a really wonderful and honest discussion on today's problems... I would have to believe it would be aired again at some point, probably today or later in the week, and probably several times, don't miss it if you can help it...
