rsie, While "it is very eery how the same pattern pops up decade after decade and the age old saying "history repeats itself" seems to be an app statement"; I would speculate that the reason for the phenomena you point out is another saying "Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it". In other words, those creating the favorable or unfavorable policies for business never seem to learn from history and go on repeating the same mistakes leading to the same outcomes. JMHO, P
