Earnings just cut by Hembrecht and Quist, significantly. RESEARCH ALERT - 3Coms estimate cut LOS ANGELES, Nov. 20 (Reuters) - Hambrecht & Quist said analyst Farrokh Billimoria lowered his fiscal 1998 earnings estimate for 3Coms Corp to $1.74 a share from $2.29. -- in a statement, cited inventory levels on modems and adapters, a back end loaded quarter and Asia weakness as reasons for the estimate reduction. -- said ''we believe that 3Com is focused on reducing channel inventories this quarter, both for modems and adapters.''
