I, too, have had great teachers at community college. I used to go to community college when I was in high school - we had a program called "operation bridge"- to allow students to take more difficult classes that were not available at their high school.

My children have had great experiences at community college. My daughter and son have both received stellar foundational training, one in psychology, one in accounting, and have been well prepared for 4 year colleges by their time at community college. It is helpful to make sure (using ratemyprofessor.com) that you are getting a good teacher- but that is equally true at 4 year institutions.
