JMAR Chairman Reaffirms Strong Confidence in Future at Investor Conference PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- JMAR Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: JMAR - news) Chairman and Chief Executive Officer John S. Martinez, Ph.D. today voiced strong confidence in his Company's future, saying that the ten-year-old California-based technology company is now ''in its healthiest condition ever'' following a restructuring three years ago and that he expects JMAR to achieve its third consecutive year of profitability in 1997. He cited strong core product sales combined with stringent internal cost controls as reasons for the projected improvement. Dr. Martinez made the comments here this afternoon in a presentation to investors at the Red Chip Review Investor Conference. Dr. Martinez attributed JMAR's robust sales growth over the last three years -- sales from continuing operations have increased an average of almost 70 percent per year since 1993 -- to a strong, growing core optical equipment business led by the increasing popularity of its high precision disk drive manufacturing systems in the marketplace. He also said that JMAR is close to completing development of a family of high performance products generated by its new, all solid state laser technology. He believes these will form the basis for substantial sales growth in the future as they transition into commercially viable advanced semiconductor lithography and ultra-precision manufacturing systems. The latest of these products, Dr. Martinez noted, is the Britelight(TM), patented, high-brightness, solid-state laser which can be adapted for use in a variety of advanced precision manufacturing applications for the microelectronics and medical equipment industries. JMAR believes the Britelight(TM) to be superior to all other lasers in its class. ''Since our restructuring, a great deal of hard work has transformed JMAR into a stable, increasingly profitable company with its best years clearly ahead of it,'' Dr. Martinez concluded. ''We believe the investment community's confidence in JMAR is well founded, and we remain firmly committed to the strategies that led to it.''
