But your article said they were hugging flirtatiously. It said they were hugging and talking, inches from his ear, and he looked uncomfortable.
It was only last month. I think most people would remember that.

Either it didn't happen that way or Cain didn't tell the truth. One or the other.

Here is the relevant portion:

But WIND radio co-host Amy Jacobson told the Chicago Sun Times what she believes she witnesses at the TeaCon convention when the two met after, she said, Ms Bialek ' was hell bent on going backstage, where she cornered him'.

'It looked sort of flirtatious,' she said. 'I mean they were hugging. But she could have been giving him the kiss of death for all I know. I had no idea what they were talking about, but she was inches from his ear.

Here we have a man engaged in a presidential campaign, who is literally encountering hundreds, perhaps thousands of people in a day -- all of whom want to get close enough to him to say something. The line "where she cornered him" tells 100% of the story (if this account is true, which we don't know about). If this woman "cornered" Cain a month or two ago, NOTHING ELSE MATTERS.

Of course Cain would not remember this woman. She's one of hundreds he's meeting on a daily basis. You think he remembers every person he comes in contact with? I've met a number of politicians over the years and I'm pretty damned sure not one of them would remember me.

This is silly. I'm not saying Jacobson even knows what she's talking about, but if she does, it totally shoots down the claims from Bialek.

More importantly, the remarks of Bill Kurtis are highly suggestive that this woman has some less than impressive history. As a man of some stature, I don't think he was making it up.

It probably doesn't matter - Cain has been destroyed either way.

I do think Krauthammer's point -- that you can't really make a claim about "unsubstantiated charges" then go out and level unsubstantiated charges on your own. And I think Cain is guilty of that.

I'm holding judgement for the moment Bill. I believed B. Clinton when he said, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Monica Lewinski." oops. I want to believe Cain too, but I stop short of bashing women who may have legitimate complaints.

There are now a few women coming forward, which looks bad just by the numbers. But don't people come forward in high profile cases and give false statements ... even in murder cases?

On the one hand the numbers of women seem to corroborate the issue. But a couple of things don't add up.

1) Allegations like, he made her feel uncomfortable because he noticed she was the same size as his wife? Sexual Harassment ... ??? There must have been more to it, or it is a crap allegation.

2) This groping case? A) The woman has a history, which matters to common folk even if the courts don't like it. B) Didn't N.O.W. declare, during Clinton's reign, one grope a year is fine? OK, well it's not fine with me but what does the street say?

3) Multiple allegations: Cain is a wealthy, powerful, good looking guy. Men like that who are players usually have a long list. So, where are the women who he had some degree of success with? None...makes me wonder. If one comes forward, this thing is over.

If Cain comes out of this clean, the backlash will cause his ratings to sky rocket. A clever campaign manager would spin this to advantage or even could have been behind it in a reverse conspiracy tactic. That is exactly what I thought was going on during the Danny Williams (Clinton's fake illegitimate black son) saga.
