Liberal author and Harvard professor Dr. Robert Putnam draws the same general conclusions in his book from 2001, Bowling Alone [2].

Dr. Charles Murray and (the late) Dr. Richard Herrnstein explain why Buchanan's and Putnam's conclusions are correct in The Bell Curve [3].
