CNBC just showed someone who lost a $30/hr job when Numi closed the last auto manufacturing plant in Taxifornia getting "retrained" at taxpayer expense for a $13/hr entry level job as a pharmacy assistant. Tons of job openins here paying very well but they can't find workers who busted their asses all through school to get into a college then took difficult courses to become engineers...

What is funny in a sad sort of way is a majority of the "smart people" who had the ability to learn math and science decided to go to Wall Street where they could make far more money with less work and risk. I know because one of my good buddies from high school I went to UC with told me that is why he got an econ degree rather than follow me into engineering. Sadly, many of them also figured out how to extract money from society without creating lasting value.

Don't know what the solution is but I don't think anyone debating it on TV tonight has the idea and it is clear the current occupant of the white house doesn't either.
