Das deutschvolk do not have enough firepower to bail out Italy so one of those choices does not exist.

Futile effort to try to keep the farce going in present form

French banks are hugely exposed to Italy, so the bank runs may well start there.

It is over, kaput, time to dream up something better, and this time keep the professional bureaucrats and worthless academics out of the picture.

The Germans must be really naive to think that they bear no responsibility in this crisis. On the contrary. As the richest and most advanced society they should have been ringing alarm bells ten years ago. I propose they make a real contribution because the alternative will be worse for them too.
