Holder Lies Again

Scandal: Refusing to apologize to the family of a border patrol killed by a gun "walked" into Mexico, the attorney general hides his prior knowledge and blames Congress for not pushing gun control.

Holder must reside in a parallel universe with an alternate and quite flexible timeline. His recollection of what he knew and when he knew it must depend on the meaning of "knew."

In testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, Holder said he "first learned about the tactics and the phrase 'Operation Fast and Furious' at the beginning of this year — I think when it became a matter of all of this public controversy."

It became a "matter of public controversy" when Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was murdered and multiple weapons were found at the scene that were traced to Operation Fast and Furious, a gun-running operation spearheaded by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which is under Holder's Department of Justice. And he read about it in the newspaper?

Assuming that in Holder's parallel universe, this was true, why then didn't he bring those responsible to his office and ask what in blazes was going on, get to the bottom of the fiasco and make sure the appropriate heads rolled all the way to the Rio Grande?

Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano, who says the border is as secure as it's ever been, a frightening statement, said she never discussed the matter with Holder — when it should have been high on the agenda at the next cabinet meeting.

Holder tried to explain that in "testimony before the House Committee, I did say 'a few weeks.'I probably could have said 'a couple of months'" and that in his universe he didn't "think that what I said in terms of using the term 'a few weeks' was inaccurate, based on what happened." Based on what happened, some would call it lying to Congress and outright perjury. Scooter Libby was prosecuted and sentenced to prison for less.

The fact is that as early as Oct. 22, 2010, before agent Terry's murder, a deputy attorney general sent Holder a memo that said in part: "It's not going to be a big surprise that a bunch of U.S. guns are being used in (Mexico), so I'm not sure how much grief we get for 'guns walking.'"

Holder's response has been that he doesn't personally read every memo sent to him. But this wasn't a request to increase the budget for office supplies. It involved a program that ran, or walked, more than 2,000 firearms to Mexico's Sinaloa drug cartel.

And how does Holder explain an April 2, 2009, speech that he gave to Mexican authorities in Cuernavaca, Mexico, on April 2, 2009, and took credit for the gun-running operation for himself and the Obama administration?

Would he apologize to Terry's family for their tragic loss at the hands of a drug cartel member armed with a weapon the U.S. government provided? Well, no, but he felt their pain, expressing "regret" that Terry was shot with a weapon his government provided.

In his opening statement, Holder tried to shift the blame to Congress and American gun dealers: "Unfortunately, earlier this year the House of Representatives actually voted to keep law enforcement in the dark when individuals purchase multiple semi-automatic rifles and shotguns in Southwest border gun shops."

Indeed, we have argued that Gunrunner and its offshoot, Fast and Furious, made no sense unless it was deliberately intended to increase violence in Mexico with U.S. firearms as a predicate for pursuing more gun control and the shredding of our 2nd Amendment rights.

That is, until agent Brian Terry was murdered and the AG read about it in the newspapers. So far no one has been held responsible for his death. Someone should be, and we have a name — Eric Holder.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat a coincidence!

Imagine the odds of this happening.

Do you know the park in NYC that the Wall Street protesters are occupying?

It's Zuccotti Park.

Did you know this park is not owned by the city of New York?

It is owned by Brookfield Properties.

Who was just hired by Brookfield Properties as an attorney?

Vice President Joe Biden's son.

Who sits on the board of Brookfield Properties?

Mayor Bloomberg's live in girlfriend.

Now, guess what company just received some of the last of the ObamaStimulus $$$$$$$.

Thaaaaaaaaaaaat's right, Brookfield Properties.

Now, guess what, on a completely unrelated note, Wisconsin is shaping up to be the swing state in the 2012 presidential elections. Not Florida. Not Ohio. But Wisconsin.

Now, guess who owns the company that will be tabulating the electronic votes in Wisconsin.

Thaaaaaaaaaaaat's right, the biggest contributor to Obama, the puppeteer George Soros.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat a coincidence!
