It's a sobering, depressing situation. Our fellow countrymen deserve better! The next generation deserves better! I hate to say this but this is a save yourself serve yourself moment for this country. Not 1 penny should leave the US in economic aid, assistance or anything else until the people of this country have been served. There are 50 million people living in poverty in the US. That's totally unacceptable and I don't believe for 1 minute that the majority of those people are living in poverty by choice or bad decision making. Now the term entitlement (LOL - sorry - no pun) as it pertains to the social security trust fund is being tossed around like a four letter word by our politicians. They lack the stones to admit that people have paid 15.3% of their wages into a program that has been systematically squandered by them and people like them over the years. I've helped set up a few trust funds in my day and the keyword is TRUST! Bernie Madoff is looking like a piker compared to our Govt. I have no idea how to fix this. Tossing some people in prison will feel good but it wont address the problem. I hate to rant and sound preachy but I'm not at all pleased about the situation. Beyond that I don't see anyone in the field of candidates that I think can lead the country out of this mess. It's going to take an economic visionary/magician and a spiritual leader all in one. Where is Vince Lombardi when ya need him! :) Go Pack!
