Sankar: Looks qntm looks firm and barring a new calamity in the dd industry I agree now is an excellent time to buy qntm. Your banking shorts, however, also make sense. It might be a good time to start making the switch from banking shorts to qntm longs in stages. Dale

Off topics >It is a wonderful time(IMO) to short banking stocks and go long on DD stocks.<
Why do you want to short bank ? Interesting rate remain down and service fees go up. Merger and taking over continues. IMO, the oil driller and service group which began slip after more than 100% run should consider a short.

Are you kidding? Banks are in M&A mania and takeovers are fetching 5x book. Bonds are 6%, so their borrowing costs are low. Finally, investment banks are cheaply valued. Bear Sterns, for example, is trading at about 1.6x book and PE of about 11.
