..I don't know if he believes it, but I think he was speaking at some sort of global warming conference? It's true we have been contributing to carbon emissions since the start of the industrial age but we have greater threats facing the planet IMO, if the Atlantic conveyor stops we face the disaster of new ice age...or the Sun spot activity lessens. We could repair the ozone layer which is only about 3/16" thick. We have a special relationship to trees and plants on the planet we exhale the CO2 they need and they exhale what we need to survive. The Oceans are on the edge of disaster also....we have a lot potential environmental imbalances and potential mega failures in our environment....we could protect the rain forests and could stop fishing parts of the seas to allow nature to recover. Injecting all the animals we eat with antibiotics is the dumbest thing we could be doing in protecting ourselves from viral infections etc. and genetically manipulated food is insane, converting grain production for biofuels is nuts....I could probably go on and on...fracking appears to be a very dangerous practice on many levels...it's like man is suicidal in the name of profit and power. ..What I agree with him the most on is not our limitation of resources but our limitation or willingness to knowledge.....like he said we need a solutions mindset and that is where our monetary/political systems have failed. We have been conditioned to the wrong types of incentives for controlling human behavior......if, we all had the necessities of life freely available equally to all lots of things would be different....but, now I'm repeating myself....since when has any war solved any of mankind's needs....education is the only weapon against ignorance and oppression.......apparently committees don't solve anything no matter how many you create?<g>
