Just for clarification, the R&D was spent in pharmaceutical. The meaning, to my mind, was that now the spending would be focused on confectionaries which show good growth potential.

Warner-Lambert Announces Three-for-One Stock Split

If approved, the stock split would occur on May 8, and the company's quarterly dividend rate would be proportionately adjusted. If the increase in authorized shares is approved and the stock split affected, additional shares will be distributed on or about May 22, 1998 to stockholders of record on May 8, 1998.
