Catholic Bishops Call Obamacare Regulation an ‘Unprecedented Attack on Religious Liberty’ Posted on September 26, 2011 at 9:00pm by Billy Hallowell Three years ago my wife working as a Republican Legislator Assistant, worked for a legislator who was the sole physician at the Catholic Sister Monastery near Washington, Missouri. He informed my wife and me that the Catholic Sisters were on Medicaid due to their being sworn to poverty. This was confirmed by one of my Catholic friends whose brother and son are both Priest in near by communities. Medicaid is one of the greatest cost to the Federal Government and the State. Therefore, I can understand why the Catholic Church and possibly other institutions under the same condition would be against the Healthcare Bill. Institutions under similar conditions would be severely impacted if they had to pay for their healthcare rather than have it provided by the government.
