MLP's in IRa's:

$1000 tax exempt limit for MLP distributions for one IRA.

$1500 tax exempt limit collectively for more than one IRA.

After those limits are exceeded distributions are taxed as ordinary income--to the best of my knowledge. Willing to be corrected if anyone else has more info than this.
