Having lived in Europe, the euro is a great idea though the design of it is obviously less reliable than it should be.

A euro takes away the problem of dealing with a mass of currencies. We used to have a collection of jars with the many currencies in them, so that when a journey in a particular direction was planned, we'd take the right collection of containers.

It's so much better to have a single currency. I had better hurry up with my project.

Down with gold, which I have not yet bought, but am very keen to do so in the form of GLD.

unfortunate no one really knows what will happen. I do think that if the EUR will slide to around 1.2 then the EU can be saved as the production will be more competitive and Italy will recover trough exports
