Poorer than what?

American poor have a higher standard of living than poor in almost any country. They have cellphones, refrigerators, cars, air-conditioning, microwaves, even dishwashers and video game consoles for their multiple TVs with cable. They have free healthcare, one or more cars, and bigger living spaces than poor in other countries. And they can buy anything they might need cheap at Walmart.

So, please explain how our poor are worse off because the Waltons happen to have 80 billion dollars?
