Yes, domestic is a relative term, and in that sense I see what you mean. Obviously, my focus was on the US proper, but this is an international marketplace, as your post makes clear. And these products are vying for acceptance overseas as well, where the savings on "domestic" calls may be far more appreciable than in the US, for the moment.

But I think that it would be good to keep in mind that this may be a narrow window, even overseas, with deregulation taking place supposedly starting in earnest in '98.

And there are the other mandates and ultimata that the FCC has issued to the PTTs regarding settlement rates that may offset the higher tariffed costs that are currently in place. Time will tell.

Frank
