During press conference to announce that MCI and NASDAQ will
be working together to modernize NASDAQ trading (a brief portion of
the press conference being televised on CNBC) a comment was made that MCI would be using CSCO equipment. Is this a defeat for ASND could this possibly be a factor in why ASND is not participating in the NW rally today ?

getgo,

It would be nice if UUNET thru WCOM were to exercise immediate control and toss out CSCO in favor of ASND. However, as I said thousands upon thousands of posts ago <G>, there is an issue as to how much control WCOM will have over the MCI people that put together this deal and, further, when that control will be exercised.

I suspect this particular deal was a long time in the making, probably before WCOM put in its bid for MCI. That being the case, the players involved selected products for the deal without reference to whatever preference UUNET or WCOM might have had had.

Furthermore, UUNET/WCOM does not have a rule against non-ASND products and I doubt anyone much cared, even if they knew about the deal.

what do you mean asnd is not rallying? we are up 1/4 point. this is an asnd rally. any up day for asnd is a rally.

unfortunately for asnd with so much short interest and others happy to leave, a base is forming here for a move past 26, which hopefully will happen today or tomorrow.

just kidding on the first paragraph.
