My posts to you about Christian martyrdom not being such a bad thing was from a Christian point of view. A person martyred for their faith would certainly be guaranteed salvation as Christ was mayrtered for his actions and beliefs.

Your life lasting 20 years or 100 years is a small difference if you have viewed this life as a testing ground for an afterlife. Imitating Christ's struggle and having your mettle and faith tested is what you should seek out. Knights of the Middle Ages often sought conflict and were not frightened to die on a quest. Like the ancient Greeks they believed in a code of conduct and were more frightened to live without honour. Fear of death as if being merely alive was a virtue never entered into the equation. It was about how one lived for the Greeks and the Christians of old. Struggle was considered good for the soul.

"I said the ancient Greeks whom you prefer to western Christians didn't have a problem with child sexual abuse ..... or infanticide or slavery."

I prefer what I have now to ancient Greeks or western/eastern Christians.

Christians exceed Greeks in child sexual abuse, infanticide and slavery. Infanticide in ancient Greece was limited to malformed babies etc. where in Christian countries it is a matter of convenience.
