In all fairness, I don't think he said it was exclusively an african musical scale... we already know that asian music, especially chinese music, is based on the pentatonic scale, this is common knowledge, at least to most educated people who know and understand music... still, it doesn't take away from the charming presentation and the absolute fact that Amazing Grace can be played completely within the pentatonic scale, that was something I never considered, and of course the history of the composition and the writer of the lyrics...

I will listen to what he said again, but are you sure that he said it was "exclusive?" I think he said that "negro spirituals" were largely done with "black keys."

Did you listen to him sing?
