I fully agree with everything you're saying, and yes it absolutely does make all the difference in the world in what key the melody is written and/or transposed... but, no matter which key you use to transpose the melody, it will still be the same melody written within the pentatonic scale... the same tonal relationships between each note still remains the same...

He wasn't addressing the slaughter of Christina blacks, the presentation was inspirational, not political... I think you're mixing the two unjustifiably... he also never said that blacks were any more holy or any more righteous than anyone else, he was merely pointing out the fact that the melody was written in the pentatonic scale and that the origin of the melody (not the pentatonic scale) was african...
