Here I always thought Newt was way smarter than Franklin Raines who bilked fannie mae out of tens of millions. Guess Newt isn't based on how little he got from fannie mae. Is there a published list of who got what from fannie abd freddie? It sure would make interesting reading. Though I think Newt may have gotten his legally. Why isn't Franklin Raines in prison????.

The consulting fee as it is identified is with the Gingrich Group. The money was paid to that organization, not to Newt Gingrich. We know that...Freddie states that he never did any lobbying. We know that to be their statement and he has attacked the organizations in recent years. Politicians are paid too much. That is common. Will someone come forward and say he acted as a lobbyist? None of us on this thread know anything more than what I posted. When he consulted for Kerry, we will expect that Kerry will say he was hired as a lobbyist if records are not true.
