LOL. So let me get this straight. You, of all people, are thanking Obama for bailing out a company that was not competitive enough to stay profitable by itself? And now, with tax payer support, they are going to employee more people to create SPORTS UTILITY VEHICLES? What is wrong with this picture? Where do I start? I'll give it a shot: 1) You, an Environmentalist, being happy about increased production of Sports Utility Vehicles, simply doesn't compute. 2) Massive capital has now been malinvested in managers who don't know how to run a profitable company. So they will squander it, just like they did in the past. 3) Other emerging companies with newer technologies that are far more environmentally friendly would have been a much better investment aligned to our longer term best interests as a country. Instead, we get more SUVs that make us more dependent on foreign oil. This is exactly why I don't like the government picking the winners. If a company cannot remain profitable, then let them fail.
