Sorry (and thanks!), that was careless of me. There is no change in policy. Only with permission from an SI admin may a person purposefully close an account and start a new one. It is a blatant violation of our TOU to create a new account for the purposes of circumventing a ban or suspension.

Deleted from my prior message to avoid confusion: If someone wants to take on a new identity, it's easy enough to simply close the account and re-register on the site as a new one. This would not be a violation of the TOU....we just don't want people posting under several identities at once.

Everyone has been so well behaved lately (or perhaps Ron has been so efficient in taking care of SI that I haven't noticed otherwise), I momentarily let my guard down :)
