With Newt, I'm not sure what he did while in office. I'd have to research that. What he did after he left office is outside of my concern. Once he left office he became a private citizen and I have no objections to him making a buck in whatever way he sees fit (as long as it is legal).

Re: corporations...really, the whole point of corporations was to shield the assets of the individuals from civil legal actions against the business. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. When illegal/criminal actions are done through the corporation, it is still individuals who are doing those actions. As is the case with political donations, the corporation is just a legal construct representing individuals. If there is a criminal action that has been done by an individual (or multiple individuals) the corporate veil can be pierced and the individuals can be held criminally liable. The corporate veil doesn't (and shouldn't) protect against criminal behavior.
