The myth that prices never go down has been broken. Yep.. remember how my father used to make that assertion.. "Never lose money in Real Estate!!.. stay out of the stock market!!".. Fortunately, he sold his rentals in 2007, just as the RE bubble was starting to pop. One thing the US does have going for it is that our population is increasing. Therefore, there is the chance that demand will eventually sop up the available supply. But many of those homes will need major renovation, since they are sitting empty. Hawk
