I had friends who lived out in the klong in Bangkok back in the 80s. Only way to get to and from their home was by water taxi. One stepped out on a boardwalk and put up the arm, just like what you do in the city to catch a cab. During the rainy season they frequently had to chase out serpents downstairs in the morning before they could get to the kitchen for breakfast. Any serpents invading you house when flooded? Should be something for Jack to watch - at a distance, I mean :) /Taro
