Large block trade? A few things to consider:

1) The amazing "revelation" that OAKT is supplying DVD controllers just like it did CD controllers. So, even if OAKT can't make a big market in MPEG-2, there is still a large DVD controller market which OAKT satisfies. The popular belief was that OAKT wasn't going to participate in the DVD market. An MPEG chip (CUBE or other) does absolutely no good without a DVD controller device...like a car with no wheels. The bottom line is: one MPEG device sold for a DVD drive means one DVD controller must also be sold.

2) The desire of National Semiconductor to "acquire a company with expertise in 3D graphics". AND, National Semi is also looking for other components to support the NSM CEO's "mini PC binge" -- the newest OAKT miniaturized controller fits the bill here.

3) Ahem, look at the PE/G, and OAKT's cash.
