Epicure found it.

The barbarians have always roamed the perimeter of civilization. So we must always be vigilant. I have always felt had ancient Greece not been destroyed civilization would be a 1,000 years ahead of where we are. The barbarians snuffed it out for over 2,000 years.

And the grand irony, is that the most civilized, are often not seen as civilized as all, which greatly adds to our attempts at civiized survival e.g. those who see how serious climate change is or nuclear proliferation, or that we are all one people living on spaceship earth and all peoples are our brothers and sisters. I am an earthling first and foremost.

E.g. NASA cannot even publish reports about gobal warming as such.

Watching Hannity interviewing Romney. He is lobbing tough questions and probably preparing him to debate Obama. What a flop. His flip is the cause of his flop. Reminds me of another candidate from Mass. where he said something like "I was for it before I voted against it."
