I don't think they have any shows like "American Bandstand" any more. When I was in high school, I often used to appear on "Record Hop" in San Jose. It was great. Girls who would barely talk to me would go out with me to be on tv. The last time I was in the Bay Area, I was walking down the street in Berkeley and all of a sudden I heard a guy behind me say, "Hey, Record Hop King." It was an old classmate from high school. I don't think he remembered my name, but he remembered "Record Hop." The last time I was on tv was 1965. I had even forgotten about it. <G>

But even MTV rarely plays music videos any more. The crap they do air is unbelievable. And I do mean unbelievable. The most fake reality shows, ever. And there is a lot of competition for that. But I guess those shows are cheap and people watch them.
