Or it could just as well be that Tutu was just "telling like it is" and speaking his conscience like another you mentioned and was held in contempt & crucified for ... i especially liked what Desmond said : "We have claimed to be a fellowship of compassion and caring and sharing, but as Christians we often sanctify sociopolitical systems that belie this, where the rich grow ever richer and the poor grow ever poorer, where we seem to sanctify a furious competitiveness, ruthless as can only be appropriate to the jungle." Truth is a strange thing and often sacrificed when we get too comfortable , rely on just "spoken words", iconic beliefs and forget to put into real testing our professed beliefs in the field of time & space . Just like science , testing ...always testing the hypothesis & evaluating the results . Your Church is heated and the pews safe & you are safe from harm while listening to those sermons , others in the world are no so lucky . And 14bil people on this planet in 2100 , just think about that for a moment ...we cannot handle 7bil now let alone 12-14 bil in 90yrs....there was 1bil on the planet when we signed our Independence documents in 1776.
