Paul I saw this news story posted today. Notice that the stores they are closing are located in Texas. I believe an earlier article I posted on SCVL stated that they plan to open several new stores in Texas and spend quite a bit of money building a market for their brands.

What makes you think SCVL will be more successful than Brown Shoe? It looks like the whole industry is in a slump.

The more I look at this recovery, there are a lot of reasons to tread carefully.

FWIW, FRO the shipping company reported a loss today and could have problems meeting their minimum bank covenants (Q1 2012) if shipping rates do not increase and/or if they can not refinance one or more of their Ship financing contracts. As a result, SFL the major financing company for FRO's fleet was off over 22% as they would be impacted by any FRO default.

These are more than company specific "event" data points, so I wonder if this economy is beginning to weaken and we are seeing several of the marginal industries breakdown first before we see other sectors slow down?

Stock up big on better than expected earnings. From your post on 11/22/2011 where you added to your position is up 23% from today's close. Great bold value bet. Looks like it paid off.

So do you move on and book your profits or is this just the beginning of their move higher?
