I found several small caps and bulletin board stocks that are targeting the fracking wastewater issue, as well as all of the major oil and gas companies. There is legislation pending from the federal level as well as the state level and because there is so much money at stake, the water purification issue will come to the forefront.

Right now, the majors are for the most part treating waste water themselves, but with increasing pressure this might not last. Fracking and its indirect industries has the potential to be the (positive) investment story for 2012
