President Obama has opened up a six-point lead over former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney in a hypothetical Election 2012 matchup. This is the widest gap between the two men since mid-August.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds Obama earning 44% support from Likely Voters, while Romney receives 38% of the vote.

When I read about TARP article (Bloomberg piece) whose URL tejek posted, it mentioned that TARP funds went to the banks under a secret deal struck between Bernanke and the banks during the final months of the Bush presidency. Now if you see the timeline when Warren ascended the chairmanship of the TARP oversight committee, it was after Obama assumed office. What is wrong with her stopping that transfer of funds under a secret deal. I don't consider that as "funds not going where they were intended to go." OTOH, it is good she stopped this massive transfer of funds which were struck under a secret deal.

Am I missing something here? Do you have a URL which says what is meant by "funds didn't go to where they were supposed to go."

This approach of opposing for opposition's sake with propaganda similar to that adopted by Goebbels and now bu folks like Limbaugh and FOX is having a very adverse effect on the chances of the Republican party. They continue to be lost in the political wilderness, unable to come up with a decent candidate. Instead they are mired in turmoil amongst themselves and indulging in false propaganda (a series of lies to achieve a political objective).
I am overseas right now and reading the newspapers and watching the local TVs along with their political commentaries, I get a very different perspective of the political situation in the US. Folks are outraged at the NATO bombing incident in Pakistan. People wonder why those candidates for President continue to say that on military affairs they will let the Generals dictate and why the civilian leaders are abdicating their responsibilities to provide the leadership on all matters including the military. Why is it that civilian leaders refuse to do the strategic thinking and leave the tactical ones to the commanders. I see Obama laying those ground rules when he challenges his commanders t achieve the objectives with 5000 troops instead of the 15000. If the generals say they cannot do with 15000, then send the generals packing.

Enough for now. Got to run to catch my connection a Dubai.
