I think that was an amazingly stupid ad. What it said, right out of the box, was that they thought using a misleading quote in a stupid way would fool the electorate. Anyone (anyone) think "the public" would, on their own, look up to see who Obama was quoting? That's for the media to do- the media who embarrass and investigate everything. So Romey's team sets up an add that looks tawdry, knowing (they must have known, right?) that they would be exposed. That's amazingly stupid. It's stupid on all fronts. It's stupid if they didn't think it would be exposed, and it's stupid if they did thing it would be exposed and imagined it would "help" them.

But as a democrats I say "You go team Romney! Keep up the dumb mistakes."
