It was under Carter that Iran invaded US soil. It was under Carter that the Misery Index was sky high. Carter also put G. William Miller in charge of the Fed. Massive Inflation.

I liked Reagan. I voted for him. But he was first and foremost a military deficit spender. The debt definitely started to get out of control under him. The best thing we had going during his Presidency was Volcker. If we had Volcker now as Fed Chairman, then we have a much more responsible banking sector and we'd have a sound currency. I wish we'd rehire the old stalwarts like Volcker who were proven to be good at their jobs. These buffoons running the country now are idiots.
