Well, tejek, you know my history. I was a lifelong robot Republican until 9/11. What that means is I voted straight ticket Republican always without thought, because that's how I was raised. Then after 9/11, I got intensely interested in politics, because I felt this country was going off the rails and I needed to know why. That lead to me spurning Bush Junior and "Darth Vader" Cheney to vote for John Kerry. Then I voted for Obama.

Now, I cast my vote after thinking about it deeply, backed by a voracious amount of fact finding. I suspect many people have some catalyst for getting interested in politics, like I did. After all, who would willingly get engulfed by the madness that is political discourse. Most days, I wish I was still ignorant. I was much happier when I was focused on making money and not on the political shambles that is this country's leadership. Now, I am forced to stay focused on politics, because making money, staying safe, safeguarding our Democracy are all tied in with an insane group of leaders in this country.

So I suspect I'll stay interested for a good while longer.

BTW, don't your opinions change when your knowledge increases? I would hope so. If facts and knowledge doesn't change your mind on occasion, then you may want to examine whether you have not bought into some ideology. I am nothing if not eminently practical. I believe in what works, not in what the GOP or Dems want me to believe.
