Forbes continued.... The first half of the story says... "If the concept of the network computer wins out, tomorrow's desktop machines will store comparatively little on their hard drives and borrow lots from distant servers. The low end of the memory business, supplying hard drives for desktop machines, will become even less profitable than it is now. The money will be made at the high end: huge disk drives and other storage devices for the servers that sit at the hubs of networks." "As early as the late 80's Quantum saw which way the wind was blowing and attempted to reposition itself away from its traditional business of supplying small disk drives to PC manufacturers." Then it talks about how they happened upon DLT when they stole Digital Equipment for $350 million, and "while DLT will probably account for just 20% of QNTM's $6.6 billion in sales for this year, it should contribute over half of the company's $480 million net income (GET THIS) says Todd Bakar of H&Q." Nothing about stock dropping or downgrades mentioned, thank god scott
