By Jeffry Bartash, MarketWatch

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — Most economic forecasters predict a modest number of U.S. jobs were created in November, but some say a bigger surprise may be in store.

The MarketWatch survey of economists estimates that companies hired a net 125,000 workers in November, which would equal the average monthly gain over the past 12 months. The U.S. unemployment rate is expected to remain at 9.0%.

The Labor Department will release the monthly employment report on Friday morning.
