Heh, "TO ALL", now where do I remember that from?

Sorry, I know of no scheme to manipulate stocks. Must be in your imagination. I know a wise Turtle that will spend an inordinate amount of time helping you thru this delusion.

OK, here's what's going to happen in the Tech sector:

What we've got is a game of chicken going on with the tech funds. No one wants to be the last one holding a large position in case of another market decline and no one wants to be left in the cold when everyone else decides to buy back in.

We all know that AMAT is the bellwether stock for the semis, right? So now they announce record earnings and everyone has their hand on the button ready to buy back in but everyone is still waiting for everyone else. When one goes they all will go and the stock will shoot up. It will then be a mad rush to buy the other stand-out performers in the sector.

Disclaimer: Jeff also thinks the Jets and Giants will both win their divisions.

So why in HELL did
the stock and others in this equipment sector fall precipitiously.

At the risk of stating the obvious, I will...

the stock and others in this sector rose precipitiously.

There is no other explanation than this. I suppose one could call this the zig-zag thoery of stocks. Those that rise too swiftly, fall also swiftly. The converse is true as well. Case in point, KR, Kroger Food stores. A real yawner. Slow to rise. very slow. But look at the chart. It just keeps going up. No downside.

Anyway, talking about AMAT, which rose from 15 to 54 the past 52 weeks, one can hardly complain about a drop back to $30, still a 100% gainer even after a correction of 40%.
