Regarding the assertion that it was Seagate's orginal intention to buy SNDK, and its failure to keep its stake at 25%, I would not read anything negative into this (if it is true) as I believe the shareholders rights initiative that came out 6-8 months ago would have changed Seagate's original intention as I believe the initiative provides that in the event of a take over, each shareholder would receive an additional share for each share he/she owns and something about $65 per share price. I confess I do not have the initiative in front of me, but I do remember this being a "poison pill" sort of arrangement and struck me as odd as the price was still in the low teens. Please, someone with the information should clarify my misstatements and posts the details about this initiative as it would clarify any thoughts of a potential take over.
