I went to Baton Rouge 11/9/11 to see my dad, who has congestive heart failure. My husband and I agreed that, while I was gone, we would stop smoking.

11/8/11, we read an article in the New York Times on vaping.

While I was gone, I went cold turkey, and he started vaping.

When I came back, 11/15/11, in the airport parking lot he handed me an electronic cigarette. I felt much better. Been vaping ever since. No desire for a real cigarette whatsoever, either of us.

It's just nicotine and a solvent, which could be glycerin (preferable) or propylene glycol (more controversial), battery powered to provide a little nicotine in a vapor. Cheaper than cigarettes, no fire, no smoke.
