Jumper, Andy Grove says to all Asians to buy computers (with Intel inside, of course) to solve all their (Asians' or Intel's?) problems. Gordon says (did he?) don't put your money in speculative real-estate, but expand your DRAM capacity. The world needs just that, more PC and DRAMs.

Mohan says, don't hold your stocks. Take them all and sell them until OEX closes below 700 and S&P below 750, NDX below 500! Heck, I can have vested interests too! -g-

Jumper,Mohan: I have the utmost respect for
Jim Morgan. His suggestion is quite intriguing,
to say the least, but he should probably stay
away from running a bank. Or maybe not.<g>

I wonder where JM thinks the "lost" real estate
money went???ITS GONE! KAPUTE! VAPORIZED! So there
is NONE to move into more productive ventures of
any kind.<g>

OTHO, JM has quite a good idea for Japan and he
may be "speaking his position".<g> Instead of
recapitalizing the Japanese banks to make up for
all those sour, speculative real estate loans, the
banking authorities should just shut them down and
invest in productive chip making facilities so AMAT
can sell more equipment. I like this guy!

Better YET! Why doesn't the Japanese government just
buy AMAT stock directly instead of betting on chip
making facilities that are potentially facing an
over-production situation if deflation continues in
the Far East and demand for chips/electronics declines.
BWDIK. (But now you know why AMAT is still part of
my core position)<g>
